I hate to go too long without posting anything so although I don’t have a specific shoot, wedding or story to share I just thought I’d check in.  Things have been so busy lately!  I did another job for Skechers USA last week, what a fabulous company.  At an evening event which I photographed I actually tried a pair of their ShapeUps.  WOW!  I thought I’d be immune since I’ve been an avid snowboarder for 10+ years, a mountain biker for about 7+ years… but they really threw me for a loop.  All down the back of my legs and into my booty was so sore for two whole days after.  I am impressed!!!  If anyone is on the fence about getting a pair I highly recommend them.

I’ve also been getting a lot of inquiries for new wedding dates in ‘10.  Seems like a lot of happy couples got engaged recently!  There are so many I am excited for because they are at some of my favorite venues in Orange County.  I have one meeting tonight for Nixon Library which is simply gorgeous.  Such an elegant ballroom as well.  Another on Superbowl Sunday for Sherman Gardens which like Nixon has such beautiful flowers, greenery and diverse backdrops for the photography.  Chuck from Music on the Move (what a great DJ and sweetheart of a man) has sent me over a few of his brides recently as well.  He does a lot over at Rancho Capistrano.  That venue always amazes me how it photographs, the lighting, rolling hillsides, full mature trees and of course lake make my job so easy!

I’ll be working hard the rest of this week, this weekend and into next week until I have a very special treat over the following weekend.  I’ve got a group of about 1o friends coming up to my Big Bear house to snowboard, cocktails, board games, go out to the local dive bar in town and relax and have fun together.  This is the stuff I enjoy most!  Nature, good friends and nowhere to need to be.  That’s ultimate down-time!!!  I plan to do a lot of cooking and baking, another one of my favorite little hobbies.  My friends certainly don’t mind the outcome of that!  I didn’t realize until today that it will be presidents weekend AND Valentines weekend, so I am sure the town will be uber crowded but oh well.  We’ll be in a pack!

If you’re still interested in renting the house I have not booked up March yet.  With the way this season has taken shape I wouldn’t be surprised if we had snow and the resorts stayed open through April!  I am still booking but the dates could end up going quickly as people realize the snow and cold weather is here to stay.  Just a sidebar, the groundhog DID see his shadow… 6 more weeks of winter.  I don’t know how much truth is to that but it’s suppose to be a valid indication.  I’ll take 6 more weeks of winter, my favorite season of the year, anyday!  My mountain bike is in my garage collecting dust as my snowboard gets it’s day in the sun!
