DAVID COOK- LIVE SHOTS

Funny, a few blogs back I was just describing how much I love music, especially live, then gave a link to a David Cook song from his show in Hollywood recently.  I seriously couldn’t believe I was allowed into The Taste of Newport with my giant camera and beefy 300mm lens… but it was worth a try and worked!  It was so fun to photograph David Cook’s live show.  It brought me back to a long, long time ago.  You see, my first love from 15yrs old til 20yrs old was a guitar player in a band.  He was 4 years older than I and got a taste of success playing all the cool clubs on the Sunset Strip and surrounding OC areas. Of course I photographed all their live shows and band promos.  I was a fledgling photographer and he was my muse!  I forgot how FUN it is to shoot bands!!!  It’s honestly so easy to get beautiful results because the stage lighting with a big ISO and a low f-stop (talkin shop) allows for such gorgeous lighting.  It’s just a matter of capturing cool moments with the artists.  I never pursued the music industry but certainly could have.  Tonight made me inspired to shoot more live work.  It helps that my subject was the beautiful and talented David Cook.  I admire his music, but must admit he’s dreamy LOL.  Nothing is sexier to me than a man who is doing their “thing” whatever that may be.  In my humble opinion when you are doing your passion you can’t help but shine.  You’ll notice he definitely hammed it up for me here n there.  How could he not see my mamma-jamma lens pointed at him throughout the show.  I got a funny, silly face and some piercing eye looks… very cool of him to play for my camera.

Please email, let me know, if you would like to purchase some prints from this show.  I will have them posted with my online service for viewing the entire show and ordering!
